Sensory-motor moulds made in silicone from Spanish dëna. A pack containing 18 moulds is shown here – six houses, six figures and six trees in nature’s own colours. The 18 figures are known in the toy business as “open-ended-toys”. This means toys where it’s very much up to the child itself to create a story as a narrative to whichever game is being played. This helps boost the child’s imagination and creativity. The child can use this set from the age of 10 months, although it’s suitable well into later childhood; initially, perhaps as something to bite on, whilst later the figures can be used for stacking and finally as moulds for baking when the child is five or six years of age. All toys from dëna are safe to use in dishwashers, microwave ovens and ordinary ovens – up to temperatures of 230 degrees Celsius.
